Our Verified Program is designed to highlight authentic and notable profiles, helping users identify genuine individuals, brands, and organizations. However, not all requests meet the criteria for a verified badge, and each application is reviewed individually. Here are some common reasons why a verification request may be declined:
1. Missing or incomplete social media accounts
Verification requires that you demonstrate a presence outside of YourSitee. If you did not provide the appropriate social media accounts, it may be difficult for us to confirm your notability or authenticity. Linking your profiles allows us to see that your account represents a real person, brand, or organization.2. YourSitee link not set or lack of government ID
To verify your account, you need to either link your YourSitee profile on your social media profiles or provide a government-issued ID. If you set your YourSitee link on your social media account, there is no need to send additional documentation. Without either of these, it can be difficult for us to confirm your identity. Not sure how to set up YourSitee for your link? We’ve written an article about it.3. Follower count or reach below thresholds
While verification is not solely based on follower count, having a significant audience usually helps demonstrate notability. Typically, accounts with fewer than 50,000 followers are not approved for verification. This ensures that verified badges are reserved for accounts where impersonation is more likely or the public presence is notable.4. Low risk of impersonation
Verification helps prevent impersonation. If your account is unlikely to be impersonated, it may not meet the criteria for a verified badge.5. Non-compliance with Community Standards or Terms of Service
YourSitee only grants verification to accounts that follow our Community Standards and Terms of Service. If your account has violated these rules, or if it does not meet our guidelines, your verification request may be declined.6. Previously verified but violated rules
Accounts that were previously verified but later violated our rules may lose eligibility for the badge. This ensures that the verified status remains a trustworthy indicator of authenticity.7. Alignment with YourSitee values
In rare cases, a profile may be declined because the individual’s work, content, or public presence does not align with YourSitee’s values. While you are always welcome to use our services in accordance with our guidelines, a verified badge also represents an endorsement from YourSitee, so we carefully select which profiles receive it.Q: What to do if you believe this was a mistake?
A: If you believe your request was declined in error, and none of the above reasons apply, please contact us at support@yoursitee.com. Occasionally, mistakes happen, and we are happy to review your case. Q: What should I do if I see a page that I think does not meet the requirements? A: We actively monitor verified accounts to ensure they continue to meet our requirements, so it’s unlikely that an account is verified without eligibility. However, if a verified account violates our Community Standards, please report it to us as soon as possible, and we will take immediate action! Verification is a selective process aimed at protecting both users and public figures. While not every request will be approved, our goal is to maintain trust and credibility for all verified profiles on YourSitee.
